70s Disco Fancy Dress Ideas

Going to a 70s themed disco fancy dress party and stuck on what to wear? We have collected all the ideas for a costume, so you'll be able to put together an outfit that would turn heads around at the party.

Costume

Firstly a disco themed party means you can go big and colourful with your costume choice. In the 70s, flare took off in popularity and everyone was seen wearing them. On the top, for guys go for frilled shirts or a 70s pattern shirt; for the ladies, go for a 70s pattern top with billowing sleeves. Apart from the flares, 70s saw jumpsuit fashion everywhere whether it was spandex catsuit for the ladies or a jumpsuit for the guys. Just note that you might have to try a jumpsuit before buying because of the length and it may look shorter or longer depending on your height.

Wigs

70s was an era of big hair, think afro and big curls or hair flicks a la Farah Fawcett in Charlie Angels. For guys, you can either go for mega huge afro or go for a subtle mullet.

Accessories

Go for round Lennon inspired glasses or a retro star shaped ones as well as huge glasses were popular at the time. For necklaces, go for chunky gold one or one with medallion. The platform shoes was the quintessential 70s shoe. Guys can even rock a 70s inspired moustache if they want to go all out.

Whatever you decide to wear, have fun and boogie all night long.

Baby Shower Decoration Ideas

Balloons

There are plenty of ways to decorate using balloons. Choose a colour scheme and get creative with it. We have chosen the following balloon decoration because of the fun side to it. A lollipop inspired balloon centrepiece is easy to make, just wrap an air filled latex balloon on a clear plastic sheet, tie it with a ribbon and stick them on to a vase or instead of using a plastic sheet, why not use a tulle fabric to add a touch of elegance.
